Website Design Services Offered
So you would like to have a web presence? Or a more effective one?
May we suggest you read the following 'considerations' section before jumping in with both feet. You will find this useful whether or not you choose us to build your site.
Many people spend vast sums of money on website design, ending up with sites which may be visual works of art, but lack any real content or relationship to their businesses. And most of your customers will have but one desire, to find what they want quickly and easily. IF your website is difficult or annoying they won't come back to it.
Website Design Considerations
When deciding on your website design, several things should be taken into consideration:
- Appearance - Decide if you want your web pages to be text based or involve graphics. Text is nearly always the cheapest and can be just as effective as graphics. Graphics generally give a more lively appearance to the site and allow for more versatile navigation methods but slow it down considerably. Please note that it is a misconception that a Javascript or Flash enabled website is the best. What people are looking for is good relevant information and that is fast to get at.
- Maintenance - If your company is likely to be introducing frequent new products, hosting events or want time-sensitive information on your web page, consideration needs to be given to ongoing maintenance. We are pleased to discuss this and quote depending on how frequently you intend to update your pages.
- Content - This is without doubt the most important, and probably the most difficult part of any website design. This would include concise text, graphics, photographs, product listings, company logos, business history, contact information, mission statements, business value statements, etc. In short, anything that you would, as a customer, want to see on the site. Remember that lack of relevant content is the largest reason for websites failing to attract repeat visits or search engine listings. The more information you can supply, the more attractive the site.
- Design Cost - If this is your primary consideration, we consider our prices to be extremely competitive. Obviously the more work you put into the project (i.e. the more information / content that you can provide us) the less it costs for us to finish the site. Alternatively, if you want little to do with it and we spend more time on it, the end cost ultimately rises - but you may still find this a cost effective option if your time is valuable.
- Other Costs - In addition to design and build costs, you may also have to take into consideration Annual Web Hosting, Domain Name Registration and Search Engine Submission Fees (many search engines now charge for business submissions). Web Hosting can range from £0.00 to £200.00+ annually, with Domain Registration costing from as little as £10.00 (for the first 2 years). Many of our customers have found that they have been paying other people significantly over the odds before they discovered us! Click for Web Hosting Details
- Style - The best way of choosing a style for your website would be for you to read the following section, view the examples in the portfolio, and then search the net using keywords that describe the sort of site you wish to own. Bookmark and notify us of site styles that you like.
